About Fog Day

History

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we (the Fog Day founders) passed the early days of lockdowns by watching tons of horror movies.  In this initial marathon, one film stood out above all others - John Carpenter's 1980 film, The Fog. By an extreme coincidence, the film happened to be viewed on April 21st, the day that the events of the film primarily take place. We knew then we had to act. Thus Fog Day was born!! We began a grassroots movement to establish Fog Day as a holiday celebrated by all. What started as a weird in-joke among a small group of friends ballooned into a counter-culture holiday celebrated by movie fans in diverse locations. Now our mission is to make Fog Day a holiday celebrated the world over. And this website strives to bring you the most comprehensive information on everything about Fog!

Our Team

Our team of experienced Fog Enthusiasts are highly educated (3 of us hold PhDs, and the fourth has a Masters, and that actually isn't a joke!), and we aim to bring you joy and community through our Fog content (or as we like to call it, Fog-tent)!

Our Partners

We have partnerships with some of the biggest names in the industry, including fog, mist, ghost lepers, and an old man at a campfire telling a spooky story at midnight.

We just love The Fog

It's an underrated classic and is just what we need to bring the world together

The Fog Day founders celebrate all creativity and artistic expression. But we especially celebrate The Fog, and to a lesser extent The Mist and the remake of The Fog.  But Fog Day is about more than just the movie The Fog! It's about spreading community and joy! So make sure to wish your friends and loved ones Happy Fog Day! And if they ask 'what are you talking about?'  bring them in on this weird little in-joke!
